Emma & Stuart // Holbeck Ghyll Wedding Photography

I met Emma and Stuart for the first time shortly after Christmas, and had been looking forward to their big day ever since. I seriously wasn’t in the least disappointed, it was absolutely EPIC for soooo many reasons! Hertfordshire-based Emma and Stuart chose the stunning Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel in the Lake District. Holbeck Ghyll is a traditional country house hotel served by an intimate and dedicated team. The hotel is perfectly situated between Ambleside and Windermere and enjoys stunning views of the lake, and by stunning I mean stunning, there can’t be many places with a more uninterrupted view of Windermere.

It was an intimate wedding; Emma and Stuart came up to the Lakes with a party of eighteen, and what an amazing bunch they were. We felt like part of the family, getting to know names really quickly, and actually remembering them… which is somewhat of a miracle as those who know me well will tell you…

After a gorgeous afternoon tea (with a chocolate spongy moussy thing - which I’m sure has a name but will forever be known as that incredible chocolate stuff).. we all got on the minibus down to Windermere for a lake cruise. The wind on the lake was enough to reduce even the strongest hairspray to tears, but it did make for some ‘interesting’ photos, and who doesn’t like the windswept look!
